USSF ’D’ License
The ’D’ license places an emphasis on coaching philosophy, teaching techniques, offensive and defensive tactics, small-sided games, teaching from the game, match analysis, organizing a practice, fitness, team management, care and prevention of injuries and tactical use of the laws. Examinations include coaching practice, oral exams and take-home exams.

USSF ’E’ certificate is required
Instructor
Len Oliver, DC Stoddert’s Director of Coaching, holds the USSF ’A’ National Coaching License and the National Youth License. A former professional player, Oliver played on the US National Pan-American Team (1963) and Olympic Team (1964). Serving on VYSA’s State Coaching Staff, Oliver has trained over 3,600 coaches from 67 countries. He was inducted into the USSF National Soccer Hall of Fame (1996) and the Virginia-DC Soccer Hall of Fame (2001). Click here for Oliver’s complete biography.
